This Is The End for Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore made her directorial debut with 2009's Whip It, a drama about a listless teenager who discovers she has a knack for knocking people off their roller skates. Not many people saw the movie, but for Barrymore, that's just the start of her career as a budding director.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Barrymore will head behind the camera once again for Warner Bro's end-of-the-world drama, The End. Unlike her previous entry, she will only be taking on the directorial duties this time; she won't be starring in the movie.

The End, written by Aron Eli Coleite, is said to be an uplifting take on the end-of-the-world scenario and will center on several individuals as they go through their final hours.

This isn't the only directing gig Barrymore has going though. She is also attached to direct and produce the thriller Heist Society for Warner Bros and the romantic comedy How to Be Single for New Line.

With her no longer being the box office draw she once was, taking the directing route is the next logical step for Barrymore if she wants to keep on acting. She can always give herself a role in the movies she's directing.

Barrymore's last starring vehicle, Big Miracle, made only $24.7 million at the worldwide box office.
