Android users can now stream Spotify radio for free

7 min.

About a month and a half ago, iOS users?became able to stream an unlimited amount of music through Spotify's free radio feature. Well, now the music streaming service is finally letting Android users do the same.

The new feature basically allows folks to stream an unlimited amount of tunes from Spotify's catalog of over 16 million songs.?

Just like their iOS counterparts, Android users can create an unlimited number of streaming radio stations based on playlists, albums and artists. They can customize those stations by liking songs (which tells Spotify that it should play some?more similar tunes).

If this all sounds familiar, it might be because Spotify's radio feature is a lot like good ol' Pandora ??except a tiny bit better because you won't hit any monthly listening limits. The free option does mean you will occasionally hear ads ? just like you would while listening to ordinary radio stations.?Subscribing to Spotify's $10-per-month?premium service gets you ad-free radio, plus a massive catalog of albums and?individual songs on demand.?

If you're in the mood to check it out, you can download the freshly updated Spotify for Android app through the Google Play Store now.
