Panasonic's 2013 Q1: things are looking up with a $164 million profit

Panasonic's

Panasonic's financial year runs from summer to summer, so its first-quarter results for 2013 just hit the wire. The figures proudly show that the company has managed to turn around the losses it suffered so badly in the previous period -- with $23 billion in turnover generating a tidy profit of $164 million. While sales dropped by six percent compared to the first three months of the year, it's been reducing fixed costs and restructuring each segment of the business to ensure a return to profit making despite the worsening financial crisis in Europe. The company's even been able to stick some cash into the savings account, tucking $16.6 million into the piggy bank for a rainy day.

St Casimirs Mortgage Minute: Got flood insurance?

Although strangely mis-titled, this article has some good info about flood insurance.?? Banks are required by regulators to carefully check the flood determination zone of every property it loans on.

From Consumerist.com:

For the last few years, the folks at the Federal Emergency Management Agency have been issuing more accurate flood plain maps at the same time as the government has made a renewed push for mortgage lenders to help make sure homeowners who need flood insurance are actually purchasing it. But even though these new maps should be making it more clear to everyone whether or not one's home is in a flood plain, the banks appear to be playing fast and loose with the rules in order to force customers into more expensive insurance policies.

See, while part of your property might be in a Special Flood Hazard Area, that doesn't necessarily mean you need to purchase flood insurance. The insurance is only required if your actual house falls within that zone.

So if your house is far from that lake, creek or river or is high up above the area that could flood, you should not have to purchase the insurance. Problem is, as these new maps get around, banks are taking only cursory glances at them and not always checking to see where a house might be before deciding that flood insurance is needed.

Usually, banks give homeowners 45 days to provide proof of insurance. After that, the bank will just put you into a policy of its choosing -- one that is often significantly higher in price than what you'd pay if you bought it yourself.
Homeowners can appeal to FEMA, though that process will likely require 60 days. By that time, they will have either needed to find their own insurance or be placed into one by their lender.

Read more here.?? http://consumerist.com/2012/07/its-not-in-banks-best-interest-to-look-too-closely-at-new-flood-plain-maps.html

The overall look of your continue is important if it is to take a place out from the relax. Excellent fresh style, well spread sentences with many bright area and using the best continue typeface will all help to provide your continue the advantage.

These things mixed will provide your continue more possibility of getting observed, and getting someone to study your continue is crucial; if they don?t study it you?ve no possibility of attaining an appointment.

Some Best?resume fonts?are Helvertica, Arial, Mail and Periods New Roman, although these are not throw in rock. What should be prevented at all expenses is a hand-writing typeface or any other curly type of typeface.

Resumes with these fonts?go immediately in the bin. Employers, whose face are becoming damaged with studying too many cover letters and resumes, won?t even make an effort to look at anything with a hand composing typeface.

Trying to choose the best continue typeface is challenging because interviewers are individuals and individuals have all different views about what?s good and what isn?t. Periods New Roman has being a pillar on cover letters and resumes for years and many individuals like to see this typeface on cover letters and resumes for administration or specialized tasks.

There is however, a approach that says this typeface is too little and becomes exhausting on the face after a while. The way to get your continue to take a place out is to create it eye-catching to study. In my encounter the eye is attracted to cover letters and resumes that look fresh and fresh with a lot of bright area.

A awesome typeface that is different is Calibri, especially is it?s in amongst many cover letters and resumes that are using the Periods typeface. I requested some of my co-workers which typeface they recommended to see on a continue. One said she discovered the Periods typeface to be too little and individuals using it were known to pack many information on the site providing it a messy look.

So viewpoint is different. When selecting your typeface keep in mind different resume fonts?work better on different press. If you are submitting a electronic continue to be study on the display then use Verdana or Arial. These study well on the display and are silent type on the eye.

Choosing the right typeface will help your continue to get observed and this is the purpose of your continue. If it?s ignored then it doesn?t issue how appropriately certified and knowledgeable you are, you won?t be chosen for the appointment. So you need to take care to create the overall look of your continue eye-catching and using the right typeface will help to accomplish this.

Coming up with a specified typeface is challenging because of the different views and one typeface won?t fit all events.

The best thing to do with your continue before submitting it off is to print it out in a number of different resume fonts??and choose which one you find simpler to study. Ask associates of your family for their opinions; then go with what you believe is the best one.

Adviser: Romney would back strike against Iran

JERUSALEM (AP) ? Mitt Romney would back an Israeli military strike against Iran aimed at preventing Tehran from obtaining nuclear capability, a top foreign policy adviser said Sunday, outlining the aggressive posture the Republican presidential candidate will take toward Iran in a speech in Israel later in the day.

Romney has said he has a "zero tolerance" policy toward Iran obtaining the capability to build a nuclear weapon.

"If Israel has to take action on its own, in order to stop Iran from developing the capability, the governor would respect that decision," foreign policy adviser Dan Senor told reporters ahead of the speech, planned for late Sunday near Jerusalem's Old City.

Romney believes the option of a U.S. attack should also be "on the table." He has said he will do "the opposite" of what U.S. President Barack Obama would do in his approach to Israel.

The Obama administration hasn't ruled out the military option, but Obama has so far been relying on sanctions and diplomatic negotiations to discourage Iran from building a nuclear bomb.

For its part, Iran says it is not interested in nuclear weapons and its nuclear program is for peaceful, civilian purposes.

The Israelis are considering a strike because they fear Iran could be moving its nuclear enrichment sites further underground, out of reach of the weapons Israel has available.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday welcomed Romney as "a representative of the United States" and told the Republican presidential candidate he agrees with his approach to the threat of a nuclear Iran.

Netanyahu said he listened to Romney's speech in Reno, Nev., where the likely GOP nominee said that Iran possessing nuclear capability is the greatest danger facing the world.

"Mitt, I couldn't agree with you more," Netanyahu told Romney.

"We have to be honest and say that all the sanctions and diplomacy so far have not set back the Iranian program by one iota. And that's why I believe that we need a strong and credible military threat coupled with the sanctions to have a chance to change that situation," Netanyahu said.

An Israeli newspaper reported Sunday that the Obama administration's top security official briefed Netanyahu earlier this month on U.S. plans for a possible attack on Iran.

According to the Haaretz daily, National Security Adviser Tom Donilon sought to reassure Israel that Washington is prepared to act militarily should diplomacy and sanctions fail to pressure Iran to abandon its nuclear enrichment program.

A senior Israeli government official, however, denied the report, saying "Nothing in the article is correct."

Iran's nuclear program has become the most pressing problem for the U.S. and Israel and Republicans have consistently criticized Obama for putting too much pressure on Israel in the peace process and being too weak on Iran.

Obama rejects the criticism, and his aides point to what they call unprecedented U.S.-Israeli security cooperation.

Senor was previewing the speech Romney plans in Jerusalem after he spends the day meeting with Israeli officials.

"Make no mistake: the ayatollahs in Tehran are testing our moral defenses. They want to know who will object, and who will look the other way." Romney says in an excerpt of his speech provided to reporters. "My message to the people of Israel and the leaders of Iran is one and the same: I will not look away; and neither will my country."

Over the course of the day, Romney will confront some of the world's most difficult peace and security challenges as he looks to demonstrate to Jewish and evangelical voters back home that he's a better friend to Israel than Obama.

Romney faces high stakes as he begins his talks with top Israeli officials and meets with the Palestinian prime minister. Mindful of polls back home that show a tight presidential contest, the former one-term Massachusetts governor is looking to burnish his foreign policy credentials and prove his mettle as a possible commander in chief.

The trip is a chance for Romney to draw implicit contrasts with Obama and demonstrate how he would lead America on the world stage.

But Romney arrived in Jerusalem Saturday night after a difficult few days in Britain, where he made the mistake of criticizing the country's Olympic Games and raised the hackles of his hosts. The gaffe undermined the stated goal of his weeklong journey through Britain, Israel and Poland: emphasizing America's ties with longstanding allies.

"In a time of turmoil and peril in Israel's neighborhood, it is important that the security of America's commitments to Israel will be as clear as humanly possible. When Israel feels less secure in the neighborhood, it should feel more secure of the commitment of the United States to its defense," Romney said in a Friday interview with the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.

Romney has pledged not to criticize Obama while on foreign soil, honoring longstanding American tradition of leaving politics at the water's edge. But his aide's announcement of Romney's willingness to express support for an Israeli strike while in Jerusalem represents an effort to contrast the two presidential opponents.

In addition to Netanyahu, Romney met with other Israeli officials and will also sit down with Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad.

Romney planned to spend the evening dining at Netanyahu's home ? the Israeli leader invited Romney and his wife to break the fast for the Jewish holiday Tisha B'Av. The holy day, celebrated Sunday, commemorates the destruction of two temples in Jerusalem.

Romney and Netanyahu have known each other since both were young businessmen at Boston Consulting Group in the 1970s.

On Monday, Romney plans a fundraiser with top American supporters in Israel, some guests have flown in from the U.S. specifically for the event. His campaign has barred reporters from covering his comments to the 50 or so wealthy backers who will gather at the luxurious King David Hotel ? all of whom will have donated $50,000 or raised at least $100,000.

Keeping the remarks private is a change from how Romney handles fundraisers in the United States, where a group of reporters are allowed into events held in public spaces like hotels.

While Romney is left to implicit contrasts with his Democratic opponent, Obama has been focusing on Israel, signing legislation on Friday increasing military and civilian ties between the U.S. and Israel. And he authorized the release of an additional $70 million in military aid for Israel, a previously announced move that appeared timed to Romney's trip.

GIANT SQUID Cenotes music review by tamijo

4 stars Giant Squid ? Cenotes This was my first experience with Giant Squid. Besides the fact that they had a Cello player, and this was metal, I did not know what to expect. ? It was a nice surprise right from the first note.

This is a sort of prog. doom metal, with a thick Metal sound, but with a lot of input from other genres. The Cello plays a very vital role in the mix, very present all the time. The Guitar and the Cello duels are amazingly beautiful. And the vocals are very varied, from heavy rock styles too folk'ish vocals.

Stylish there are elements from Asian/Middel East music, and elements of classic inspired music mixed into the Metal power poundings.

Sometimes the tempo is fast sometimes almost frantic, at other times its very slow. The album is shots and compact, but that is not a bad thing. Quality prevails quantity.

A strog 4 stars, and for those who like their music to be this hard, I bet it could easy be a 5 star. This is metal, and you have to be into metal, to like it. If you do not like metal at all, the chance you will love this one is next to none.

PFT: Jones-Drew will be a no-show at camp

Steve Gleason. Drew Brees, Will SmithAP

They?re unveiling a statue of Steve Gleason outside the Superdome today.

But the subject of the artwork has been doing anything but standing still.

Gleason, who is battling ALS, continues to fight for a life of adventure for himself and others, even as the disease robs him of his ability to move.

New Orleans Times-Picayune columnist Jeff Duncan has an emotional update on Gleason?s fight on the day the ?Rebirth? statue of his 2006 blocked punt is unveiled.

The disease keeps the former Saints safety confined to a wheelchair now, and speaking has become difficult.

But he recently rode in a sidecar during a motorcycle rally and canoed down the Missouri River, following the route of Lewis and Clark.

?Our guides couldn?t believe it,? said Clare Durrett, marketing director for Team Gleason who accompanied him on the trip. ?To see his resilience and his willingness to do everything he physically could do without hesitation was incredible. . . . There were tears on the canoe, and we popped open some champagne for the floaters.?

His Team Gleason foundation?s also trying to help other ALS patients enjoy similar experiences. They?ve sent ALS patients scooters to stay mobile, another went on a trip to Italy which included whitewater rafting and a hot-air balloon ride.

?We really try to focus on those ALS patients who are trying to live by Steve?s example, who are still trying to live life to the fullest and are not giving up and trying to be productive, even though they have this diagnosis,? his wife Michel said.

But as much as his life stands as a testament, the statue of his famous blocked punt against the Falcons represents more.

?To have a statue of you up 100 years from now at the Superdome, I think that?s amazing,? Gleason said. ?But I don?t want this to be about me and that play. I want it to be about what that play symbolized, which was a commitment by this community to rebuild.

?This statue is about coming through adversity. It?s about finding your heroes. It?s about commitment and a rebirth for all.?

These have been troubled times for the Saints franchise, but Gleason?s bravery through a real struggle has been remarkable, and moving to those who live far beyond New Orleans.

Record summer heat brings out the bugs

If you're feeling extra mosquito-bit this summer, you're not alone. According to the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), record hot summer temperatures are bringing out the bugs.

Ants, fleas, ticks, earwigs and black widows are among the pests that are making a strong showing this year, according to the NPMA.

"Insects are cold-blooded, which means that their body temperatures are regulated by the temperature of their environment," NPMA public affairs officer Missy Henriksen said in a statement. "In cold weather, insects' internal temperatures drop, causing them to slow down. But in warm weather, they become more active. Larvae grow at a faster rate, reproduction cycles speed up, and they move faster."

Hot has been the watchword this year, with the first half of 2012 measuring up as the warmest on record for the United States. June 2011 to June 2012 was also the warmest 12-month period since record-keeping began in 1895, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Drought across the country's midsection can also exacerbate pest problems, Henriksen said. When insects and arachnids can't find moisture outside, they often head indoors. Areas where rain is more frequent are likely to see increased mosquito breeding, she added.

About 64 percent of the continental United States was experiencing drought as of July 19. The unusually hot summer has also contributed to incidents of heat stroke, low water supply in some areas and blows to agriculture.

(AP) ? Israel's foreign minister says Israel will act immediately if it discovers Lebanese Hezbollah militants are raiding Syria's chemical or biological weapons stocks.

Avigdor Lieberman told Israel Radio on Wednesday: "For us, that's a casus belli, a red line."

Israel's political leaders have been warning in recent days that they would be prepared to strike weapons depots to keep those arms from reaching militants. They fear Hezbollah and other militants could raid those arsenals if the central government in Syria collapses amid intensifying violence.

Israel's military chief, however, counseled restraint on Tuesday, warning that an attack on Syrian chemical weapons depots could drag Israel into a broader war. Israel currently assesses that Syria retains control over these arsenals.

AccessData Releases CIRT Version 2 | DFI News

AccessData announced the release of Cyber Intelligence & Response Technology Version 2 (CIRT 2). CIRT integrates network and computer forensics, malware analysis, large-scale data auditing, and remediation. The solution is an integration of four of AccessData?s proprietary technologies: the AD Enterprise network-enabled computer forensics solution, SilentRunner? network forensics product, the data auditing capabilities of AD eDiscovery, and?new in version 2?AccessData?s new Cerberus malware analysis technology.

CIRT integrates four of AccessData?s proprietary technologies for network and computer forensics, malware analysis, large-scale data auditing, and remediation. Version 2 adds the capabilities of its Cerberus malware analysis technology.

Traditionally, organizations rely on a number of disparate tools for information assurance and incident response. There are often multiple teams each focusing on one small aspect of a much larger cyber security picture. For example, a forensics team, a network security team, information assurance, or compliance auditing team each use different tools and may or may not collaborate on a daily basis. According to Jason Mical, Director of Network Forensics at AccessData, these gaps in technologies and processes make it difficult for an organization to quickly identify when a security breach or data leak has occurred. Since perimeter defense and alerting technologies can only detect threats that have been previously defined, the ability to catch what tools, such as intrusion detection systems (IDS) and data loss prevention (DLP), miss is vital. ?Today, when an organization discovers it has been compromised, it is often by accident, and usually long after widespread damage has occurred. CIRT is designed to provide 360-degree visibility into what is happening on your network to speed detection, root cause analysis, and thorough remediation,? stated Mical.

By allowing users to correlate computer, network, and malware data, as well as audit thousands of machines, CIRT gives organizations the ability to identify and address all types of threats, including zero day events, hacking, data spillage, and advanced persistent threats. Using CIRT organizations can continuously monitor network traffic, computers, and removable media and can more quickly acquire actionable intelligence in the event of a cyber incident. In addition, with CIRT?s ?check in? feature, CIRT users can monitor the laptops of traveling employees, even when they are not logged on to the organization?s network.

In a June 2010 article in the DoD blog, Armed with Science, head of US Cyber Command, General Alexander, stated ?? we have been leaning forward and building an organization and a mission alignment that is more integrated, synchronized, and effective?? In Mical?s view, integrated, synchronized, and effective should extend beyond people and processes to include the technology deployed in facilitating incident response. In his words, ?the incident response infrastructure is an organization?s last line of defense, so a few different teams, each juggling a bunch of tools, is not the most effective approach.?

One platform providing a single pane of glass through which users can see what is happening on the network and at the host level has been the vision of AccessData CEO, Tim Leehealey for the last decade. Key features of AccessData?s Cyber Intelligence & Response Technology include the following:

  • Correlate network and host analysis to quickly determine root cause and more effectively chase down data spillage.
  • Identify and triage suspected malware, determining behavior and intent without the sandbox or reliance on signature-based tools.
  • Perform proactive and reactive enterprise audits to identify data spillage, such as personally identifiable information, payment card information, or classified documents.
  • Play back security incidents in real-time to gain a better understanding of an exploit or data spill.
  • Build threat profiles and monitor to prevent incident recurrence.
  • Continuously monitor the network and information assets, including removable devices, on or off the organization?s network.
  • Perform batch remediation.

?By providing integrated analysis from multiple vantage points, as well as real-time collaboration among personnel and easy-to-read reporting for those at the top of the command chain, AccessData?s CIRT solution is the only product of its kind, engineered to better aid organizations in their efforts to stop the bleeding,? commented Leehealey.

Vent Sesh: Investing in Ourselves | The Average Girl's Guide

Happy Wednesday. For the latest Vent Sesh, wanted to delve into Investing in Ourselves. Do you do this? While this conversation is a bit more geared toward professional women, I?d love stay-at-home moms (who have a harder job than me!), students and others to weigh in as well.

When I say ?investing,? this isn?t the same as indulging yourself or treating yourself. While I love taking ?me? time for a mani/pedi, a little retail therapy or cozying up with a good read, I realize I don?t invest as much in me. Speaking professionally for a moment, I invest in my business (hiring the right people, etc) and the blog (buying necessary software and whatnot) yet do I invest in me, the ultimate ?capital? that ultimately will determine if either or both are a success? Verdict: not enough.

While I?ve been in public relations for 10+ years and have made an effort along the way to stay close to new trends, proven techniques and technologies, I started the blog without a clue. No joke. I really had no idea all this amazing-ness was out there! Interestingly enough, the blog ? while I aim to keep both businesses incredibly separate at this time ? has been a huge asset to my PR biz, a 30-something professional aiming to stay plugged into the latest in my industry. Yet reverse that, and while I?m mostly happy with the content I?m so behind in terms of developing a visually impressive blog up to my standards. The major components of the blog have been outsourced because I didn?t have the time to learn.

What?s a gal to do?? ?INVEST IN HERSELF! {Insert smile here}. Even though I purchased a DSLR camera six months ago I have been using it on auto settings. Done with that: I?m reading more and about to start playing with it big time. Plus, I want/need to kick-my graphics and collages up a bit so I just completed my first Photoshop Elements Skype sesh with Victoria of vmac + cheese (a blog fav) who started her own business called vivaleur in the past year. Best money spent.

I feel energized about the prospect of taking a step back from my life to see how I can maximize what I?m doing. Why invest the same time doing something when you can be doing it better and more efficiently? The reason most do not? The time investment up front to learn. It sucks, I know, but I?m telling you? it?s that exhilarating feeling when you found out you lost a few pounds or spotted new muscles after a month of eating healthy and hitting the gym.

Have you invested in yourself recently? What have you done, or what do you want to accomplish? Comment here to help inspire all of us.

BOB EJIKE - Nollywood Focus

Interview by Achusim Bill

?

Tell us about your new establishment NATIONAL EDIFICE MAGAZINE

The National Edifice magazine is the latest entrant into the Nigerian tabloid industry. It is the result of a collaboration between Prof. Bob Ejike and a group of corporate entities that include Free Energy Resources, Mustard seed, Emerald park farm.

The magazine is interested in Environment, Aesthetics, Architecture, Horticulture, Personalities. Profiles of personalities who embellish and beautify our city and enhance our economy. Titbits, News, reality and truth. These are the areas the National Edifice is involved in because I saw the loopholes in the system which I am about to fill.

I have been writing since I was 14 years old for Drum magazine where I shared the front story page with Ben Okri, winner of the commonwealth price for literature. I have written massively towards the script that started the Nigerian film evolution which I call Nollywood. In the course of my writing, I did write the first Nigerian film on video which won the NAFEST award in 1982 and launched great stars like RMD.

I have also written for great Nigerian newspapers like THE SUN where I worked as an international correspondent and columnist. I also worked in other journals. I have also written and published novels like Weapons of Biafra, The Ambassador and two of my novels await publication.

Few of my fans who have been watching my Nollywood films and my intervention in music industry, realize that I am a university lecturer and a trained writer.

When did you decide to start publishing the National Edifice Magazine?

The decision to publish a property magazine that deals with environment was not mine, but I do recall sometime over a year ago, the directors of Free Energy Resources Nigeria Ltd proposed the opening of such a magazine in conjunction with me. Initially, I declined because the last thing I wanted to publish was another property magazine. It took a lot of time to agree on the kind of thing that I want to publish. I want to publish a magazine that I would want not just to pick up from an office reception, but a magazine that I can buy from the vendor and be sure that it covers the general interest areas of the society. Sports, fashion, celebrity, religion, marriage, history, profiles, etcetera.

Again, I was not certain that I was the proper candidate for this appointment because my exposure to the arts, journalism inclusive has been generic rather than specific. I started working as a freelance journalist at the age of 14. Even though I was just a kid, I was contributing monthly to Drum Magazine, sharing the short story page with Ben Okri. At the same time, I was editing the poetry column of the Democrat Newspaper. I later started writing for the Daily Star in Enugu before my literally services were required by the growing radio drama industry. I began scripting for ABS Radio Enugu, Radio Plateau, Jos, Radio Television Kaduna, NTA Port Harcourt, NTA Benin from which I got the major break that won me the NAFEST award and then Nollywood followed, but before Nollywood, I was and I am the father of Nollywood. Nollywood is my baby.

Before Nollywood, I was writing and acting on Bassey and Co, the national soap opera that was being produced by Ken Saro-Wiwa of blessed memory.

In Italy, where my quest for knowledge took me, I worked for Del Lavore Publishers on the side while lecturing at university. I was also writing for the Trans-Atlantic times of Washington DC. When I returned to Nigeria, I started contributing to daily times and This Day. I joined my mentor Louis Odion at The Sun at their onset. I ran the column Klieg Lights for some years.

Much of the rest of my time I spent writing books, making Nollywood films, composing and recording music, modelling, presenting NTA?s Tropical Rhythms, voicing adverts, and facing the difficult task of trying to make a dignified living out of all these. It took about one year for me to be convinced that all these were the experiences required for the post of Editor-In-Chief for the National Edifice Magazine.

bob ejike

You just came back from across Africa, tell us about it?

Actually, I just came back from Dubai UAE. I had a ground-breaking show in Dubai titled ?LEGEND CONCERT: Bob Ejike Live in Dubai? in the famous garage night club. Pasuma wonder, Timaya etc have been hosted there.

General played an ambassador of Nigerian culture, all embedded in my music.

I was in east Africa for six years, Uganda precisely, I was living in Kampala where I ran over four studies and a visual studio.

I was enticed by the young local talent and I was able to expose them. Most people (young ones) do not know about Nigerian music, art and culture. Most people don?t know about Fela.

In the course of my stay, I began to construct structures; social bridges that traversed east and west Africa. Leading to the introduction of Nollywood en-mass, 2face Idibia, Psquare, Danfo drivers and many other great Nigerian artists and groups.

I also got involved in the Ugawood project, under the able leadership of the honourable general Elly Tumwine, one of Uganda?s heroes. This project was geared towards creating an individual film culture based on Nollywood. I was also privileged to travel widely in East Africa. Relishing the culinary prowess, interacted with very civilized people and enjoyed an African setting where things worked without corruption being overplayed, and also enjoyed the company of some of the most beautiful women in the world.

Tell us about your music, your new album?

On The Radio, my latest musical effort is the odyssey of the Nigerian artist, who comes from his village with talent, great hope in mind and enthusiasm just to meet an industry full of huddles. Whether he will succeed or not depends on his ability to jump these huddles. I have survived three generations of Nigerian music. I started music with Reverend Chris Okotie, Jide obi, Lover Boy-Felix liberty, Chris Mba, Tina Onwudiwe, and I am the last man standing. I am the last member of my generation still relevant in the Nigerian music industry. I am the survivor, the father, the boss, the baba. And all artists are my children. I am the one who gave Nigeria Nollywood and the one who broke walls for others to pass. I am the most experienced hip-pop artist in the field.

All these things I have been saying, have been packaged into an album called ON THE RADIO.

I have been told that you don?t have to make sense in the Nigerian music industry. I have also been told that mediocrity is the order of the day, repeat one word, pick somebody?s rhythm. All the artists have been using one word which has been used over and over again. My producer Erons B is just 22. I will not condescend to those levels. I have always been faithful to my understanding of music, of the noble concept of music and art.

On The Radio has songs like Darijimi, Do me Do me, Givam To Me, I Am A Man, We Dey Go, Does Your Mama Know, Cry, Yaga Yaga, All Through The Night and Egwu Oma.

Tell us how you want to penetrate the market with your new projects?

I am a very young man at heart. Though physically otherwise. I think at heart I am younger than wizkid. I am easily bored by any enterprise that is not physically challenging. Throughout my professional life, I have always had at least three jobs at a time. In the literature, music and the academia. I know that I am not getting any younger, but my fans, I have over 50 million fans, around Africa, especially east Africa, middle east, Nigeria and Diaspora. You see, I was born to win.

In your years of travelling abroad, you?ve had a number of concerts. Can you please tell us about the most exciting ones?

My most exciting concerts were done here in Nigeria at the very beginning of my music career. I did a show in Uniport that was sponsored by the British Council. I have also performed at the French Cultural Centre, at the German Goethe Institute with Tunde Kuboye and the extended family Jazz Band. I still have nostalgic memories of my performances with Jide Obi, Dizzy K Falola, Daniel Wilson, Lover Boy Felix Liberty, Mandy Brown Ojugbana, Sweat.

More uproarious, more breathtaking, are the more recent shows especially those abroad, in Italy, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Dubai. I particularly love to recall my concerts in Uganda with Aki and Paw-Paw, our tallest comedians. We had strong audience of over 250,000 in Kampala and Ginger, superseding international celebrities like Akon.

Where can we find your music?

On the internet, the Nigerian music websites. I think my music is in about 150,000 websites. That is the easiest way to find it for streaming and download. Just Google Bob Ejike

One man, so many talents. Is it a blessing or a curse?

It would be a declaration of ingratitude to God if I call it anything but a blessing. Sometimes however, I ask myself why can?t other people hear this music that is playing continuously in the silences. Why can?t I rest, just rest?

What is your message to your fans?

Never wait or hesitate. Get into it before it is too late.? You may never get another chance. It is not original, I borrowed it from another rocker, Rod Stewart in Maggie May. But from me to you, never give up on your dreams. He who has the gold makes the rules, keep digging.

Ways To Make The Internet Work For Your Business | It is imperative ...

It is imperative in modern times to use Internet marketing effectively. Not bothering to make and follow a plan can keep you from reaching your full potential online. Following are some great online marketing tips and techniques.

Consider offering an e-freebie that represents your business or service well, and put it out there where it can reach the masses. If you are offering a free e-book, the book should be submitted to the websites that offer e-books for free. Various websites are available that provide articles, free items, e-zines and e-books, and you can submit your item to a number of these sites.

Adopt a positive and enthusiastic tone to get people interested in your products or services. Demonstrate to prospective clients how much you personally enjoy the products you sell, and prove that you value your business. That emotion will be contagious and you will convince those who visit your site to love the product too. This eventually will equate to increased sales and profits.

Email can be a great way to target your marketing to specific groups of customers. Not only does it make your site feel a lot more exclusive to visitors, but it also allows you to obtain your visitors' email addresses. Have a contest or give away something for free in exchange for their email address, as you can use this down the road to market to them. A customer will provide their email if they get something in return for it.

Providing proof to back up claims is very important. For instance, if you say your product works great, people may or may not believe you. However, if you make a video showing how effective the product functions, you will be far more convincing. This is a great illustration of why you should sell products you have actually used whenever possible.

Be sure to incorporate the use of Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites in your Internet marketing strategy. News media, such as social websites, allow you to keep up-to-date and in constant communication with all your site's visitors, and simple and quick when trying to keep them informed about any promotions. Although, you should not advertise too often as this can push your customers away. Instead, be sure to provide your readers with posts that are helpful and insightful.

Never resort to spamming your prospective and existing customers in the hopes of making a sale. Posting hundreds of links on random sites and blogs will not draw any traffic. When you fail to add personal touches to your advertising people recognize this and are less likely to give your business.

Give people a limited time offer. This could mean providing free shipping or free gift wrapping for any purchases made prior to a given date. Make sure that you highlight the end date of the offer to create a feeling of urgency.

Now that you know how to use Internet marketing, you can incorporate these tips to ensure your business is a success. Use this knowledge to help boost your profits, increase your visibility, and attract new clients!

If you want to become expert on this field, you should visit this link to find out more about it. This post will reveal helpful information about Smash It.

At Home in Vermont: Family, Food and Familiar Places (Part 1 ...

Vermont road

I grew up on this? road in Vermont.

I?ll bet you can tell that I?m not in California today.? Instead I?m in my home state, Vermont.?? This is the road that runs past the house where I grew up, where my mother still lives.? It? feels like home to me. ? See that mountain off in the distance? That?s Camel?s Hump, a landmark that most Vermonters will recognize.? It is much smaller in this photo than it appears in real life. During my growing-up? years we had an unobstructed view of Camel?s Hump and the horizon where the sun sets every evening.? We used call the family into the living room to? gather in front of the picture window: ?Come see the sunset!? ?? Since the trees have grown on the ridge we have to walk to the top of the hill to see the sunset in the summertime when there are leaves on those trees, and the walk is worth it!

Vermonters who live within sight of Camel?s Hump have a special bond with the mountain.?? We are east of the Camel?s Hump, so we see it with the hump on the left.? People who live over in the Champlain Valley are west of it, so they think the hump belongs on the right.? Artists paint or photograph that mountain both ways,? but if you live in Central Vermont,? you probably wouldn?t want a picture of it from the other direction.? Everyone knows that someone tried to name the mountain ?Crouching Lion?,? but we?re glad they didn?t.

Camel's Hump in Vermont

This is our side of Camel?s Hump?with the hump on the left.

Conversation in Central Vermont usually begins and ends with the weather.? Summertime can be hot and humid, but my first several days here have been absolutely perfect.

Green Mountains of Vermont

The Green Mountains of Vermont are usually blue!

Yesterday I drove down to the capital city,? Montpelier, for the well known Capital City? Farmer?s Market.? It was a perfect day, and lots of people were out on the sidewalks,? visiting with friends they might happen to meet,? everyone? reveling in the perfect day.

Montpelier Farmers' Market

Beautiful vegetables, plants, meats, baked goods, tee shirts, ethnic foods, artisan soaps, handmade art tiles, jewelry, granola, cheese, etc.

I was surprised to discover that artisan liquors were also represented at the Capital City Farmers? Market!? With free samples!? If my dad was still alive, he would heartily approve!? I tasted both the Elder Flower Rum and the Maple Rum at Dunc?s Mill.? Of course, I had to bring home some of that maple rum!? Thinking about maple rum cake, maple rum glazed chicken and maybe a chocolate maple rum sauce!

?

I couldn?t resist buying some old fashioned peas, as they remind me of my father?s garden and my grandmother?s? summer visits with our family.?? We would sit in a circle around a bag for the pea pods,? and shell the peas into a metal pan.? You could hear the peas hit the bottom of the pan with a beautiful percussive tone.? Sometimes a few peas would hit the floor, and my grandmother would have us all in delicious hysterics as she declared, ?Oops, someone just pea-ed on the floor!?

When I come to visit my mother,? I have to plan a few surprises.?? She really loves to have her family visit and anticipates some culinary creativity.?? Certain family members are known for their specialties, like chocolate chip cookies or apple pie.??? Mom especially likes my scallops.? I dust them with Progresso Italian Bread Crumbs and sautee them in butter.? This time I wilted some spinach in the pan after the scallops were done.

We added a few shrimp too!

One of my surprises for Mom this year is a ? breakfast? parfait made with Uncle Sam Original Cereal,? berries and Cabot Vanilla Bean Greek Yogurt.?? It?s a nice treat first thing in the morning!

The Cabot Coop, well known for their Vermont cheddar cheese, is only a short drive from our home.? Their Greek yogurt isn?t available in California, so I look forward enjoying more of their products when I?m here.?? The Cabot creamery holds special memories for me, as it is one of the first places I took my husband on his first visit to Vermont. ? I?m hoping to get over there for a tour of the creamery and taste some samples of their newer offerings.??? I have? recently discovered? Uncle Sam cereal and love it!? It?s toasty wheatberry and flax seed? flavor is delicious and adds the perfect crunch to the parfait.? I have to thank Attune Foods,? a sponsor of Camp Blogaway, for sending me samples to try.? It?s my new favorite cereal, and Mom loves it now too!

I always bring along some? avocados from our farm in California.? I bought? fresh cilantro, zucchini, scallions and home grown tomato at the Farmer?s Market, so we had a quinoa salad with chunks of our home grown avocado on top.?? It?s great to be home in Vermont,? sharing California avocados. quinoa salad

A few years ago my brother planted some beautiful gardens for my mother to enjoy in the yard around the house.?? This year the clematis and honeysuckle are especially lovely?in the shade next to the hostas.?? Everything here is green and growing!? Even though the summer sunshine is cherished by Vermonters,? this Vermont native (who lives on a California avocado ranch)? is looking forward to a good old fashioned Vermont thunderstorm!? Stay tuned!
